Re: Coach electrical not running on batteries
There are two circuit breakers (a 15Amp and a 50Amp) between the coach batteries and the LVD that may have corroded or stopped working, resulting in a low voltage disconnect. They are mounted under a plastic box-like cover underneath near the driver door step. The 15 amp has a smaller red wire the L...

Re: For Sale 2005 Chinook GLACIER LE
This posting looks really fishy to me. Pictures look like a Premier not a Glacier. Description says "Bunkhouse layout", for example. Price is too low for a Glacier. Looks like a cut and paste of differing information.

Re: Power to the living quarters shuts off??
Although your breakers may be worn out, the truck battery should use the same electrical path as the coach batteries to power the coach appliances when the separator is engaged. In other words, the truck power should use those breakers as well as coach batteries. You can test your theory by pressing...

Re: Need mirror cover for 1998 Chinook RV
The mirrors are made by Velvac. The current model (used in 2000+ Chinooks, like mine) is 2020, but I think the 199x year Chinooks used the 2010 model. I don't know the differences, but I think the 2010 model has been replaced by a 2015 model, which might be compatible with your mirrors. If so, this ...

Re: Storage Box for Batteries
Personally, I would switch to lithium batteries, which give you almost twice the useful energy per AH rating and weigh half as much or less than lead-acid. You can get temperature protected 100+AH lithiums now for under $300. and they have 200/400 AH versions in bigger form factor. You would get alm...

Re: Replacing Water Hatch and AC/Heat Pump on 2000 Chinook Premiere
Welcome. Our 2001 has a different hatch setup so can't help you there. Looks like you are on the right track. I just replaced my city water valve and was able to install it from the outside. It has a threaded connection so use a lot of teflon tape to prevent future leaks. I replaced my air condition...

Re: Info on duell privacy shades
If the blinds are not staying in place, it usually means that you need more tension on the strings. There should be a bobbin on the wall where the strings mount, and you can take a wrap or two around the bobbin to increase tension until the blinds stays in place.

Awning end caps are replaceable. Almost every owner seems to have bought new ones at one time or another: Order parts here: web sites may or may not be available anymore, but search for Fiamma part numbers should bring up sources. http://www.fiammausa.com/orderNow/spares.asp See parts diagrams here:...

Re: Camper Radio runnung off Chassis Battery?
Two days ago I disconnected the coach radio from its power source and I today when I checked the engine battery it was down to 12.43v, so clearly I have another issue I have to hunt down. Let the fun begin. A couple of places to check. The truck radio itself has an "always on" input to sa...

Re: Camper Radio runnung off Chassis Battery?
As others have noted, the original radio had power from both the truck and the coach batteries, presumably so the radio settings were preserved while in the STORE position. I rewired my radio to use only the coach batteries. I think I just spliced the coach power wire to feed both power inputs to th...
