Re: How many miles do you have on your engine?

Let me make sure I understand...I have a 1998 Triton V-10 in my concourse. Is it still one of the units that will probably give us problems? I now have about 60,000 miles on mine. Maybe I should change the spark plugs and make sure they are torqued down correctly?? Yes. I would at the very least re...

Now all you need is a ambient music track of crackling wood fireplace and you are in cozy nirvana.....
I know! My buddy is installing a wood version in his rig and I’m jealous haha

Re: How many miles do you have on your engine?

A 2000 Chinook would make it a 2 valve motor and the bad heads. The problem wasn’t truly fixed from what I have gathered till the 2nd revised 3 valve heads. And that wasn’t till like 05 or something, Chinook as a company folded right about then so I would assume most Chinook owners are prone to this...

Re: How many miles do you have on your engine?

No, I would not wait till one pops. At 80,000 miles I would hope the plugs have it done at least once already. I met Justin, the shop owner who did my swap, in Colorado a few years back randomly at a buddies wedding. He was a Ford master tech for years but his passion was Volvos. He owns Baker garag...

Re: How many miles do you have on your engine?

Figured Id make a post here since I just had a 8k engine bill with my triton V10 at 141k. We popped the first spark plug in Utah. Inserted a Napa “quick fix” to limp into town. Started searching the topic and found the best kit on the market, Calvan Insert Kit that I found out later you can get righ...

Re: Roadside Remodel

First cold morning fire up! Heated the van up fairly quickly even without the 12v fan hooked up. The mornings warm up fairly quick here in Oregon so we didn’t run it too long. Excited about it tho, think it’s going to be the perfect stove for our situation. F4A785D1-2E59-4EC7-8DA3-483DD7E363A9.jpeg ...

Re: Roadside Remodel

I don't like the furnace due to the noise too, but I seem to be the only one who get wake up by it. If I have shore power, I usually use the heat pump on the roof, and we have not been to anywhere that cold that it does not work well. So the new furnace is right behind the driver seat? I really lik...

Re: Roadside Remodel

Whats the advantage of your new heater versus whats already in the chinook? Is it supposed to be more fuel efficient? I see it has an exhaust pipe on top, do you have to cut a hole in your roof to vent it? Can it be wired to function on the existing thermostat? I know my factory furnace uses a huge...

Re: Roadside Remodel

Man have you done a lot of work, looking good. How do you like the Dickerson propane fireplace? Is this replacing the furnance and a/c heatpump? Any downside to it? Chuck Thanks Chuck. We are going to leave the stock furnace for now but if the new stove works out good (Which it should) we will even...
