Re: How to remove cushions from jacknife sofa?
Saw your PM, and since I don't see a way to send photos that way, I'll post them here :) The back cushion is attached to a back frame thingy, which I just poked at with wrenches until I got the whole frame off. You can see in the photo below an arm thingy sticking up at either end. I never did figur...

Re: Jack knife conversion
That's essentially what I did as well: removed the cushions, removed the back. Then I laid a couple pieces of plywood over the top of it, and a piece of that non-skid stuff you put under carpets, to keep the mattress from sliding around. The result is a non-standard size, so I had a mattress custom ...

Re: Passenger side remodel idea
Some of the bolts don't seem to be accessible from underneath. I had no interest in keeping the seat belts as an option, so I just cut through the bolts with an angle grinder. Most of them dropped out to the ground, but one is right above a tank or something underneath and is still in the hole, hund...

Re: Passenger side remodel idea
We are considering a modification or our dinette. This thread revealed something I hadn't considered, the seatbelt bolts toward the center of the aisle. If these two bolts can't be removed do you remember how high they stuck up out of the floor if they didn't go flush to the floor? I'm hoping to ma...

Re: Replace faucet
Never mind, found the chart for how deep they need to go: https://www.sharkbite.com/resources/pipe-insertion-depth-chart Now how am I going to measure and mark that when I cannot see and touch at the same time? hmmmm... pondering... masking tape cut to the right length, so I can feel the edge, mark ...

Re: Replace faucet
It does look a little crooked, but that supply line is putting a fair amount of downward pressure on it. My hardware store did not have the depth/deburring tool, so I'm not sure how to tell when it's far enough in (other than the "it doesn't leak" test) - how far down would you mark it? I ...

Re: Baggage door seals
I just measured the bit that was falling off completely, and it's about 3/4 inch. I think that's what I'll get and try. Thank you!

Re: Replace faucet
Just going to tack this on to this thread instead of starting a new one  I just replaced my old, leaky faucet with a new one. I spent time on the Lowes web site reading install manuals to find one I thought I could reasonably install without making myself insane (I can only get one arm in that...

Re: Insurance for our Chinook
I just have liability, meeting the minimum standards for Texas. I have my 'normal' insurance through State Farm, but they wanted big $$ for the camper, even when combined with my other policies, so I ended up with Progressive, which was way cheaper. But yeah, if I wreck the camper, I'll be paying ou...

Plumbing hack - for winterization?
Okay, so I need to do some plumbing repairs. For the first time since I've had the rig, I wanted to completely empty the fresh water system. I found the drain valves at the front of the coach thanks to the manual, but when I went to look for the water tank drain petcock, I found... this. 20210916_15...
