I guess those custom hubs are pricey.
I don't think common sense has anything to do with this type of project.
It is what it is, to each their own.
I'll keep everyone posted with my final decision.
Good luck with yours.
I am also hoping that your health improves.

Re: I am converting to 4x4!
The rear F350 axle and installation will cost $2000 complete. This includes everything required to install it correctly. They charge it by the job, not hourly. Since I will be removing the MorRyde systemfor progressive leaf springs, they'll be able to weld the shackle hangers wherever needed, as wel...

Re: I am converting to 4x4!
UPDATE: I spoke with the shop owner, and we discussed my concerns about using adapters for the 16" 8x6.5 rear rims. He's also done this kit with the customer keeping it all stock in back except for changing tire size to match the front height, but I don't want that. He said that if I want the s...

Re: I am converting to 4x4!
Ok, I see.
I will ask them today how they go about getting around this for the rears of these E series RVs, as they seem to have done a few now.
Thanks.

Re: I am converting to 4x4!
If you don't mind, could you tell us how you did it for your rear wheels? I recall you bought four Dodge Ram 17" wheels.
You mentioned something about spacers.
My front lockers will be rebuilt manuals, not vacuum (if you meant the lock as you fly system).

Re: I am converting to 4x4!
Hey JabberBox, thanks for replying with that good advice. I'll be consulting with them tomorrow with all my questions, so yeah, we haven't discussed most of it considerably yet. I do know for sure that the front rims are mandatory 17". I'd like BFG or General AT tires up there. Since they are d...

Re: Brake booster conversion
Ok good...and thanks. I had thought about the HB before pulling the trigger on the 4x4 conversion. Now that I have, I appreciate the info bc now I won't consider the HB any longer if it is as you say. I read that the 4x4 conversion really does indeed make a huge difference in feel, so I probably won...

I am converting to 4x4!
I've researched these Chinook conversions for quite a while now. Quigley is the top, but they don't touch our old rigs anymore unless it came with theirs originally. Quadvan has a good reputation but is months out and pricier than I can afford. I bought the 2019 E-450 front end from them if anyone i...

Re: Help Needed: Spare Tire Mount Bracket
One of the claw sides broke off mine. I took it to a welder and he did it for $30. Feels and looks strong. Had to paint it to prevent rust.
The only problem I see is the pair of rubber straps that can tear.

Re: Help with possible purchase
I had a '78 without 4x4.
Those cabs are way too crowded.
My 2000 Concourse is much roomier in the cab.
I am converting mine to 4x4 at the end of Oct.2022.
I agree that it's way too expensive and that you'll be content with a newer model and converting.
