I ordered the original lens cover so I can determine if I like the intent of the original porch light.

After cleaning up the light fixture above the dark tank valve, it's in a pretty poor location for getting covered with whatever being so close to the rear dual tires, I decided to leave the original light bulb in place. I'll probably never use this light fixture as I usually wear a headlamp after dark when working on and around the RV.

I might re-route the wiring to this switch and connect it to some sort of other rear led light bar........

I'm with you on the dump valve light. If it's dark enough to need a light, then I'm going to need a light in all the other places I'm working while doing the job. So, like you, I wear a headlamp. Also like you, I figured I'd probably re-purpose the switch for something else (on my year it's just inside the back door on a 3-switch bar that has switches for for the porch light/step light, awning light, and dump light).

I ordered the porch lamp cover. It was like $5 each. It is much better than the old, UV-damaged one on there, but I wish the lamp is brighter. The original bulb is 12W, and I replaced it with an lower wattage LED from autozone.

I was thinking about remove the dump light and use the wiring to connect to a relay for the actuated dump valves. That way, there is less accident for having the dump valve on. However, I am so swamped with work that I will be happy if i can get to it before the summer. :(
