Looking for a 1998 thru 2003 Chinook concourse with side entry. I realize these are scarce, but If you have one or know of one please contact me. Will travel. Thank you. Mark in San Diego. 619 997-9954 or matherton619@gmail.com

Hi Mark. I don't think your going to find a side entry Concourse in that year range. From reading through Chinook information when looking for my side entry i read that they stopped offering the side door entry option right around 97-98. I have seen a "1998" side entry concourse once but was most likely on a 1997 chassis like mine. Hope this helps. BTW, there is a side entry for sale in Long Island, NY right now. Its a '96 with the V8 460 not the V10 and needs a little TLC but its not a bad price.

Check this out. As luck would have it, it's in your neck of the woods.

A 1997 would work but a 96 won't because I plan to put a 1998 7.3 litre diesel in it and the California smog referee likes it better if they match. The 97 has the later style doghouse needed to clear the turbo on the diesel. Thanks for feedback. Mark

If you're not stuck on a side entry, here's one with the 7.3L diesel already in it with the Banks power pack. This is a real classic I'd jump on if I was in the market.

Does anyone know for sure if they even made a 97 or 98 side entry chinook with the v10 engine. So far I have found 3 1996 side entry models with the 460 engine. I don't want to keep looking if there is no such thing. Thanks. Mark

Once upon a time,8 was fixated on the side entry Chinook and especially a v10, occasionally a side entry appears very very rarely a v10 since there always seems to be some stalking same..they fly away very quick,I have seen bidding wars were Byers offer more than the asking price...The beast has one I believe and flew from one end of the country to the other to score it.the last one I saw was years ago in Seattle and sold for 30k as I recall .in 1998 trsilwagons put out a short video featuring a side entry, where it is on the web I can't say.To the best of my knowledge 1998 was the last year of side entry models, but there may indeed be a rare model rig out there a fluke of production.after 98 the only side entry are the longer glacier and rare Maverick models neither with a rear stationary bed.Coach house makes a model but that aleo is on a longer chadis and of course a different story..I would suggest a daily search of the websites your post here was worth a chance...or you could cough up a huge offer but I doubt Willy will part with his wonderful remodeled rig. Yes, I've seen two 1998 V-10 online. One was silver, the other is a tan one that was listed here:

Prior to that, my photo collection shows several 1995 Premier SEs (!), several 1996 Concourse SEs... all of course with the older Concourse house body (bottom squared off, fridge vents close together).

But even the 1997 models with the newer Chinook SE body (rounder bottom, and the fridge vents are more separated) all seem to actually be on 1996 460 V-8 chassis. At least as far as my photo set shows.

Thanks for the feedback. I am pretty dogged and have been able to search out rare vehicles in the past. Maybe someone on this site is willing to le one go...I am willing to pay for the right one. Mark 619 997-9954
