HI , still learning myself , 2001 Destiny 2400 here , one thing I did learn as stated earlier is yes you have to have enough gas in your tank to supply generator also ( which is a good thing ) also if it runs dry or problems starting my instruction book say to " prime " generator first , that is to push DOWN on start switch until light goes out and the push UP to start generator
Not sure thats your problem , worked for me " Enjoy The Ride " Yarddog
