I haven't gathered much info yet at all, but was excited to see they really are making them again. At least in name. Seem to be targeting a market above even the airstreams, but sure is nice looking.

I just went to a RV show here in Tacoma WA and toured the Airstreams and other class B's. They are nice but weren't my cup of tea and just too narrow. I suspect the new Chinook is the same. Not sure most Chinook owners will see them as a "Chinook".

I hope the quality lives up to the name. But I'm also not really impressed with the looks. There's something distinctive about our old Chinooks. On the Sprinter chassis, you could line that up with a PleasureWay and Roadtrek and I probably couldn't pick the Chinook out.

Yeah, the 2014 Chinook prototype used the familiar Glacier body mold mounted on a Ford chassis:

The switch to a Mercedes Sprinter van body made it an entirely different beast from the original.

Sure it's a class b and not using the molds.. Yet! (Haha.. I'm hopeful someday they make an chassis/cab class c again. Thoigh, if there's a down turn in the market and economy goes to crap for a few years again.. Well that hurts all RV companies.. Especially new ones targeting a high end customer)

Much prefer the old ones, especially compared to the cost of a new one! We would have to add another 35% on TOP of the sales price with dollar exchange, PLUS tax

Besides, the Mercedes Sprinter van has established a dubious reliability record amongst commercial fleet owners.
