Boondock in Historic Charleston

Post by Xatlatc »

For those with brave of heart, the Charleston Visitor Center on Meeting Street has covered RV parking across the street. The entrance is 12'6" or more and cost $2.00 an hour with a maximum of $16.00. Overnight stays are permitted. The garage has personnel on duty 24/7. All the tour busses and trolleys originate from the garage next door. It's very easy to drive the streets in Charleston and this parking is very convenient to everything. Knowing there is RV parking in the historic district makes visiting the city nicer. We're going back tomorrow. I decided to go out of town about ten miles to the Oak Plantation Campground for the night with weekend reservations at James Island County Park.
I'm not an experienced urban boondocker but maybe you are. If there were others staying there I may have experienced my first boondock.
