Superstition Mountains

Post by Rokrover »

Now our Chinook is restored to health with new fuel pump and tires it was time for a road trip. Normally I avoid the Phoenix metro area like the plague but family obligations placed us in the Queen Creek area. Then it was time to decompress with some R&R in the mountains so we made our first visit to Lost Dutchman State Park nearby in the Superstition Mountains. There we berthed the Chinook and hiked up Prospector's View trail below craggy rocks.

More beautiful pictures! Love the night time shot and the pup looks very content. So much to see down there.

My Dad lived off his motorcycle back in the early 90's around the Superstition Mountains/Apache Junction area. He was also one of those that stayed the winter in Quartzite on BLM land. He loved it there. We saw a lot of the area trying to catch up to him.

(BTW we found a nice County campground near Cave Creek north of Phoenix while touring the area.)
