Interior Window Tinting

Post by JabberBox »

Has anyone tried having the window sin the camper portion of your chinook tinted using vinyl tint?
I had read someplace that someone had their windows tinted and when they removed the tint it ruined some coating or something on the
factory windows. Not sure if it was true or even where i had read it at.

Has anyone done this and did you have any issues?

I remember reading it here...

I will be careful with Chinook window, since they are difficult to replace if you ruin it. They are coated by a special method (maybe by vapor disposition?), and it maybe difficult to find a matching replacement. What you need to find out is which side is the coating is applied. As long as the vinyl that goes on the inside is not the same side the solar-bronze coating is on, it should be fine. But if they are on the same side, the coating may came off if you need to redo the tint.

As you know, the best way to find out is to hear it from someone who have done it, but unfortunate, I am not one of them with that experience.
