How to put load on the genset when it is in storage?

Post by chin_k »

I know we need to exercise the generator periodically, but I don't really know how to put the right load on it. It is easy to turn it on, but according to my understanding of the manual, we need to put some kind of load while it is on to make the effort worthwhile. Do I put water in the microwave to boil it while the gen is on? Give me some tips, please.

Depends on where you live :)

Southern US? Turn on the roof AC.

Northern? Bring a small electric heater or use the roof heating element if your AC has it.
