uh oh

Post by mendodave »

This is my new-to-me 1999 Chinook Concourse XL with the Ford Triton V10.
44,000 miles.
I got it from my uncle who passed away a few years ago. Aunt Jeanie thought she would use it but can't keep up the maintenance.

I only had a short time to really look at it when I was in Hood River, OR, and trusted my auntie....so I bought it. I was on a motorcycle ride up there so finished that trip up, flew up to Portland and got the Concourse.

Drove home, just a few issues other than my learning the ropes of bringing a stored RV online.
Fridge had been removed for a repair, they forgot a ground wire and it was tripping the GFI on AC. Fixed
2 bad fuses. Fixed.
it has the 'vents not working' issue, so I was working towards finding that problem

I live in Northern California, BTW. This Chinook was from CA originally.

Took the engine bay hatch off the inside, and saw this...
Passenger side rear intake manifold looks....strange.

I am a bit perturbed by this!
thanks for any explanations.
it has an aluminum air plenum under the intake manifold, photos on ebay show a plastic one.

wow, don't know what happened there. Usually the vents not working issue is a leaky vaccume manifold thing (a well documented e350 thing.. not specific to chinook or motorhomes)

Hi

Supposedly the vents worked when my aunt drove it to my sisters house, where I picked it up about a week later.. This has been this way for awhile, look at the corrosion.

Could that be a non Ford manifold?

Edelbrock, etc?
