Rear passenger brake/signal light does not work.

Post by fordo1922@gmail.com »

Hello,

My rear passenger brake and signal light is not working. I replaced the bulb and still no luck. When I engage the passenger side turn signal the front bulb blinks very fast. Is this a wiring issue, fuse issue or something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks Jesse

I believe you have a ground issue. I had similar problem. I did the simple fix and added another ground post to the frame. My symptoms:
Rapid blinker on dash passenger side.
Overdrive wanted to hunt in and out.
Loss of cruise control.

What I found.
Previous owner must have had a problem and spliced white wire and ran an extra ground wire into the refrigerator box. I tried to trace and fix factory ground but it was difficult to follow tone with my tone tool.

My fix:
Used existing splice and ran new ground wire to the frame with a new ground post.

All problems solved. I do believe the factory ground problem is at a trailer wiring harness. Mine is difficult to access.
