You'll probably get better confirmation (or denial!) soon, but for now I can say this: My buddy's 2003 E-450 Class C (which is other-brand but larger than a Glacier although on same chassis) uses the exact same stock tire size as my '99 E-350 Chinook. That is LT 225/75 R16. They are load range E.

I would think you'd have the same (but if someone else knows different of course go by that).

Good to have actual Glacier confirmation. Since the wheel/tire size is basically dictated by Ford, it makes sense that all of the aforementioned would have the same size (nice when things make sense :D).

PS: I don't believe the tire size is any different than on "singlies," as my E-250 camper van ran the same tires. That said, the dually rims are a different shape, to accommodate the "dualiness" of them. (Front rims too of course, so that you only need one spare.)

I really don't like the 225/75R16 tires that come on all the newer E-series vans, so when it came time for new tires I put 235/85R16 on my 05 Concourse. It is taller and rides nicer, and I don't scrape as much leaving parking lots.

In case anyone else was like me, and wondered how much height gain (from the ground) the 235/85R16 gives over the stock 225/75R16, I got 1.22" by running them both through a tire calculator. That could come in handy at times, and probably doesn't affect handling much, nor make the entry steps noticeably higher.

A note and a couple of questions:

1) What didn't you like about the stock tire size?

2) Do you get any rubbing at all? Have you been in situations such as off camber dirt roads/turning around with odd angles/etc. that would put them to the "best" rubbing test?

3) The actual speed of the vehicle would be 8.3% greater than the speedo reading (unless something was recalibrated) with the larger tires. I suppose this also means the odometer would "lag" by 8.3%. (Is there a "fix" that brings it back to accuracy, or do you just do math?)

I did the comparison here, in case anyone is interested (but there are many similar sites). You put in the stock size first, then the new size, then hit "compare" and it will tell you how it differs.
