Hello everyone,
Just took the carpet out of our 1998 concourse and installed a 32 inch Jensen TV. Carpet was a pain, TV went really smooth.
I have included some pics.

Neat project, I've never seen one with the carpet removed.

Nice! I've seriously considered replacing my carpet. Any tips you learned taking out the carpet that would have made it easier?

The carpet in these Chinooks is very strong. It takes a lot of elbow grease and a few blisters to cut it out.
Make sure you have a sharp cutter and change the blade often. I also found a good pair of pliers very helpful.

I always tell people with their carpet out, that if you camp in cold places with power, now is the time to think about putting in 110v heating mats made to go underneath flooring.
Nice on the feet, plus it often brings a premium when it's time to sell.

Hi Max - did you remove the sofa and other furniture or just cut around them? I have a guy lined up to pull out the carpet and install vinyl flooring but he's convinced it would be easier to pull out the furniture first and I'm concerned that it will just add to the installation cost. Would welcome input on this as he'll be starting the job next month, along with some other modifications.

I'm curious about the furniture removal too. I've been planning this project, but I can't decide if I need to pull the couch and dinette or just cut around them. The perfectionist in me knows the right thing to do is remove the stuff but the lazy bum doesn't want to do it.
