Chinook Wiring Diagrams

Post by kdarling »

Some factory wiring diagrams that I found in the pile of info that came with my 1994 Concourse.

These first few are from back when they only had a single house battery under the hood (or behind the fridge):

Oldest battery wiring diagram from back when Concourses were called the "18 Plus":

Battery wiring diagram from umm... about 1992-1995 I think:

Converter charging circuit from probably 1992-1994 or so, when it was separate and plugged into a 110V outlet under the stove:

Wiring diagram for the taillights, pre-1996, but perhaps useful even later:

Power distribution panel diagrams for about 1995 onward (both rear and side entry models):

And finally, a 1996+ new style wiring diagram for those with the battery control panel above the driver's head, and dual house batteries. Two pages:

Kev-

My chassis date is 1995 and Trail Wagon date is 6/1996. Do you have any idea where Chinook ran the converter wiring to the house battery?

Also, when I was crawling around underneath looking for where my engine start battery negative cable was attached to the engine block, I discovered melted Chinook wiring loom on both sides of the engine where the looms pass by the exhaust manifolds. The wiring was ok, so I wrapped the wiring with heat protective material.

I'm thinking that the melted loom on the driver side contained that 8 gauge wire running to the converter.

Thanks-

Usually we keep this area for reference material only, so I'll point you at the way mine is wired, and we can continue discussion there:

However, your converter is on the driver side, right? I wonder if they simply use the single driver side wire in your case. That is, if you turn off the house power, does that stop the house battery charging from the converter/charger as well?
