Stowaway hitch carrier - extra room

Post by 68camaro »

Below are some pics of the Stowaway carrier I will be using on my Concourse, the carrier was used by wife for her Tea business. Now that Craft shows and festivals are all canceled, I figure'd II'd try it out. I think this will be perfect way to gain extra outside space to carry my wet wading gear, fishing gear and other odds and ends. Plus the carrier swings open to give more room getting in and out of back.

Only downside, but not for me, is you cannot swing rear step down with carrier installed...plus it not cheap, $700+ but its been well worth it.

It's easy to get in and out, waterproof and has lock. It stores 12.5 cu feet, with larger version at 16 cubic feet. We should have bought bigger for her business, but what do I know..haha.

Aside from the carrier, I had to get an 18" hitch extension to get clearance to open door and 4 pin flat adapter with 7 or 8 pin round end to connect to rigs electrical connection.

I forgot to mention I added a hitch stabilizer where carrier goes into hitch extension to prevent wobble.

Nice! What do you have attached to your spare tire?

Interesting! However I don't intend on ever getting that stuck? Can we say "famous last words?" Thanks!

Haha...exactly why I have them. Muddy trail areas are my biggest concern. Tracks are quick help before have to use winch.
