WTB 1999-2002 Chinook 4x4

Post by AKTroy »

I'm looking to Purchase a 1999 or later Chinook 4x4. Would like to keep under about 22 ft. I think the Baja and Glacier are a couple of models from that era. Let me know what you've have with price. I'd also consider just a standard two wheel drive as they can be converted, but ultimately I want to go to a four-wheel drive.

Thanks!

Good luck, Baja's are pretty rare and rarely come up for sale, but when they do they are not cheap.

A 4wd conversion at one of the reputable shops will cost you roughly $25k, of course doing yourself saves big bucks if you can tackle it.

Sounds like the best thing for me is to look for a concourse, and then a reputable shop to do the conversion. That would certainly be fine. And to the moderators of the forum, Is it okay to repost another ad with the title WTB a concourse? It seems like there are plenty of those around, and I'm willing to travel to pick one up. So far I've just been checking Facebook Marketplace, changing the locations with a pretty broad search range of 500 miles.

Best,

Thanks for the tip using "searchtempest", I decided to just get a 2wd concourse and do the conversion with a shop. I think I"m more likely to find a great 2 WD vs a great 4 WD. I like the idea of all new parts as well.

Best,

Thanks. By switching my search to just a standard two-wheel drive concourse, I don't see any issues. With the economy worsening in 2024 I expect we'll only see more of these showing up on the market. I really don't even need one until spring, so I've got plenty of time.

Thanks again for all the great tips folks! I really appreciate the input from the community.

All the best,

I have a 2004 Premier for sale. Not yet posted since I am still organizing the paperwork. Great shape, clear title in hand, 22 ft length, solar. Put new coils, plugs and boots on engine, 6 Michelin Agilis put on Oct 2021, road balanced, front end alignment and new bushings. Lots more done and maintenance records available. Removed flex steel sofa for a twin mattress mod - still have the sofa if you want to reinstall. Never had any issues, runs great, 102k miles. Ask 45K, in Boise Idaho.
