Maybe, that’s why I want to replace it first before getting into phase two of suspension work, which would be damper and sway bars. Phase three would be something with springs and coils, and a slight 2” lift perhaps. Right now I drag the rear end over driveways at times.
Les Schwab called and said the total for parts and install is $750 plus shipping. They won’t know the shipping until arrival.
I think they got the quote from MORryde. I can get the parts with tax and free shipping from UltraRV Products for $506.84.
Not sure what the labor cost is yet. Gonna go talk with them today. MORrydd had told me it should only take a couple of hours book rate, so looking at perhaps a little over $200 labor.
We’ll see. $706.84 is better than $750 plus who knows what the shipping will be. I can save maybe $100! I’m going to ask if they can order from Ultra RV.

Well, with the ripped spring, your rig is sitting a few inches lower, esp. the passenger side. Maybe it will not scrap the driveway anymore after you replace the springs.

Finally got the DSR108-075 MORryde RL rubber leafs installed at Les Schwab.
I told them to use new Grade 8 bolts and install them at the lowest hole setting (raises the rear the most).

Also ordered the Monroe RV shocks 555031 fronts and 555032 rears. I thought they would be yellow and was looking forward to seeing them under the rig, but they are black! I asked the manager about them and he said they are Monroe and that he got them from their wholesaler. Three were black and one yellow, so they painted it black at no extra charge lol. Do you all know if these RV shocks come black too? I didn't see any of these 55503X ones in their website as being anything other than yellow. The reason I'm asking is that if they aren't what I wanted and ordered, I'm going back to have them ripped out!

Haven't quite "tested" out the RL's yet. But on the drive back home, it felt a tad stiff (isn't that what they're for?). I want to decrease some tire air and see if that smooths things out. Right now it's at 65 fronts and 60 rears as done per specs at Les Schwab.

My Monroe shocks are yellow. Call the manufacturer, and ask them about the color. Something is not right when one is yellow, and the other is black. There should be stamped info on the shocks. Do you see them having any different between the two besides superficial color? As long as the specs is the same, who care if it is gold, green or blue?

I don't think the bonded will make much difference compared to the bolted. The difference must be in the formulation of the spring, not the physical construction. I said this because the middle "skirt" completely undo the difference of two half-segments and one whole segment. To take advantage of deflection, the spring need to be uniform dimension from end to end. Any mechanical engineer here who want to correct me on this?

I called Monroe today and they have confirmed that their shocks are now coming in black as well, and they are discontinuing the yellow.

I've just received my pair of RL spring replacements. I'll need to borrow, rent the portapower or the special installation tool. I'm:
Following the MOR service & parts lady's recommendation of the newer style bonded DSR108-075. ( she based the 075 rating on 7500 GAWR rear )
Replacing them myself ( I too heard, "well, we don't really do those, but we can take a look at it - - - And, since you are bringing the parts, I'm increasing my labor rate to 165/hr.")
Already been under there spraying down the fasteners with pblaster
Going to use new Grade 8 fasteners which Mor Ryde says are 3/8 x 7/8" long bolts with centerlock nuts
Using the threadlocker - blue, just to be sure
Curious if anyone has any "While your at its" to be done while doing this work? (other than the shock replacement)

I know, it's an old thread, but I'll attempt to document a bit to improve "the next guys chances".
Best,
MSH

I literally just did my MORryde insulators yesterday. I used the MO25-002's. The new ones compared to the old ones I took off were about 5/8-3/4 inch taller, static. When I installed the new ones I used the lowest setting ( was in the middle setting before) and I did gain some altitude in the back. Which is what I was hoping for. If you were a tad closer I would offer to loan you my port-o-power. They say you can use a large c-clamp but I think the PP is way easier to use and gives you greater range to work with. Best of luck with the job!

The special MorRyde tool is only good fro the driver side. If you doing both side, or the passenger side, you need to get the porta power because the exhaust pipe is in the way. I tried to use the C clamp, but it was not strong enough or large enough for it.

The most time consuming thing when you have the tools is to jack up the rig. I use a large jack stand under the rail to make sure it won't come down on my arm and crush it.

I had Les Schwab install mine.
I read all of Chin’s comments when he did his, and I preferred not to go through that.
I gave them all the information, and they ordered and installed the whole setup.
They did a good job.
