Sorry for going on a tangent, but you those tubular lock is a pain to pick, particular if you are not experienced with it. You may want to contact the manufacturer with the serial number and see if they can provide you with a key code. I think there is a little plate on the left side with the serial number....
Ain't that the truth - what a pain it is, I got a tubular pick kit off Amazon and watched several videos and they all made it look so easy. I spent at least 30 minutes in 99% humidity dripping sweat trying to pick that thing. All videos said it should take 15 seconds lowest to 2 min longest. One said if it doesn't work it could be the lock is a variable tension spring type which requires different approach/tools but I could not find how to do it.
It is a Universal Mini-Vaults MV250 but I cannot find manufacturer, does anyone know if they are still around? If I can't get it today I guess I'll have to get a locksmith - not being able to open it is like an itch I can't scratch.
Holy cow - I picked lock:) Went out to give it a try and it opened literally in 10 seconds, inserted pick into lock and gently applied pressure and twisted and it opened right away. I have NO idea what I did different than last night but I'll take pick and safe to locksmith to get key made.

68 Camaro RS? Too cool! I used to drool over that grille back in the day (still like it!).
Thanks, here is front end, love the hide-away lights.
Oh my, and it's a convertible! That would have been my absolute dream car back in the day (and not that I wouldn't want one now either). Must be a hoot to drive around -- or even just to gaze at in its parking spot.
hat
Good on you with the lock. Persistence! I t so want there to be some hidden treasure in there now I had the full set of keys to mine which of course meant that it was empty.

Yeah, it was like opening Capone's vault...a big "nothing".

What size pick? I see different sizes from 7.0 - 7.8 mm, or does the universal one from Amazon do one size fits all? I need one.
The kit I bought had 3 different sized pics, 7, 7.5 and 7.8, each size had different color collar band on pick. Pick is all stainless steel except for colored collar.
Kit with three sizes was $19.00 off Amazon, but I can't remember what color collar (size) I used but believe yellow or blue but it's easy to figure out because only one size will fit. Kit cover is all in Japanese so I can't tell what it says.
