Chinook RV

I wish Mark have info on his rig on this tag line, but Sherlock Holmes says he got a 1997 Chinook side entry diesel, so it is the metal bumper/step, not the fiberglass of later model.

Notes to Sherlock- The side entry wouldn't have a rear bumper with steps. This is probably Mark's diesel 2000 Concourse $10,000 "impulse buy" he is refurbishing.

The bumper I am ordering is for a 2000 concourse rear entry. The "cake pan sides can be ordered in any finish you want. my 2000 concourse would have have been chrome plated. I thought the prices for the side pieces were high so I am going to straighten my existing ones. I did order the remainder of the step including the side pieces and manual steps. The former owner made drastic changes to my bumper in order to raise the height of the trailer hitch. I will be restoring it back to "stock". I think these bumper prices are reasonable. also worth mentioning the trailer hitch is not available. I did reluctantly sell my 1997 side entry to a very nice couple here in san diego and opted to keep the 2000 diesel. I will be converting it to 4x4 using a donor Quigley van for parts. Love those chinooks.

Mystery is solved. Thanks! I looked at a 2000 rear step and it's just the same as my 1999, which is the same as a 1997 Premier I looked at (although the Premier is painted where the Concourse is chromed). I'd pay those prices too, as I think it's a great step, it fits perfectly and folds up super slickly -- and it nicely avoids that typical "RV flimsy" step feel. Also agree with you on the "cake pans": For such relatively lightweight and simple bits, they seem disproportionately expensive.

I need the left and right bracket that allows the rear step to slide up and down, anyone know if that is the "Triside for the folding step" they have listed?

I believe it is....

I would send them a picture of your brackets before you order, just to make sure. I think those brackets may be included as part of the folding step assembly, but you should be able to get them separately and should be much cheaper.

Can't you straighten them out, 68camaro? Or they are beyond economic repair?
