Yes. The screws work as a wedge and stops the mirrors from slowly moving in towards the van.

Mine still hold with the setscrew...so far.

Were any of these motor adjustable when new? I would expect my Premier to be manual, how about the more elevated models?

What has anyone done to get remotely adjustable mirrors? Was wiring for them included in the Ford harness? I wonder how difficult and expensive it would be.

My understanding is that after-market automatic mirror can be easily added. All it takes is one ground (the metal frame of the door is grounded anyway) and a power, and it should be in there already, or easily added.

The issue here is not the mirror position, however. It is the pivot point of the entire mirror that enable you to fold the mirror in when you are going thru a tunnel or parked on a ferry. As far as I know, it is still a manual one for the automatic mirror that I see installed. Maybe there is a telescoping version out there nowadays, but I did not look around.

Our 2001 Concourse came with heated, motorized adjustable mirrors (glass adjusts, not the fold in/out). The mirrors are Velvac 2020 models, available from many places, for about $700/pair. I assume the wiring is compatible, as I'm sure Trail Wagons did not use different E350's for the Premier and Concourse. The Velvac door post panel has the switches for the motor control and heat on/off.

For the original poster, here is a link to an old post with tightening instructions for the Velvac 2015 model, which I think is your model: viewtopic.php?p=254#p254 The key advice tidbit was to loosen the setscrew, and then retighten, which seemed to be a permanent fix for Blue.

Mine has heated power mirrors that are none functioning,only useful as manual mirrors.

Check the wiring. Mine does not move, and when I open it up, there was a loose wire, and after I reattached it, all worked again.
