Hello everyone and thank your for you ideas, I was deployed so forgive me for not updating this post. Anyway I finally have my issue resolved, it cost a pretty penny being from NY. The rear leaf spring assembly for the suspension had to be rebuilt with bushing. This was causing that loud clicking or popping sound every time I turn into my driveway. In addition to the drifting while driving down the highway, I need a wheel alignment after the leaf springs and bushing were replaced. I tested it out and it seems to be working now, I'll know better after a longer trip out east (Montauk, NY)

Welcome back from your deployment! Hope Chinooking days lie ahead :)

Say, on the rear spring, was it the More Ryde rubber bushing that was the problem? I ask for future reference for the forum because I have rarely if ever heard of a standard leaf spring or hanger going bad (but then I'm more familiar with Fords so it could be something unique to Chevy chassis). OTOH, Chinook often used the More Ryde rubber spring shackles in the later models, and they do tear and need replacement.

Glad you have it resolved.
