Had straightened out and grinder hot it, they work but difficult, new ones will make irritation go away:)

The step assembly really is a nice, well made item. Super solid, and the uprights are really stout. I'm surprised for the prices on the "cake pans" as they're thin gauge and simple. They are welded and finished, so that adds to the cost. I really think you could come out ahead by unbolting the cake pans and replacing with some kind of bumper-sized C-channel or rectangular aluminum stock or similar, with threaded inserts welded in accordingly.

That project is on my list once I finish the interior...
