Can't wait to see more. Wish I could see those factory prints on my phone... But I wouldn't trust much shear strength from our walls, plywood surround or otherwise. Easy to just anchor at the floor.

If I remember correctly, the twin bed version does not have any seat belt there, probably because there is no strong anchoring point for the belts.

I think that's correct, chin_k. Same goes for the Club chairs (because they only anchor to a wooden box that is screwed to the floor, kinda like that wooden couch/bed - the flexsteel couch has a big metal frame bolted down (not saying I'd want to sit there and count on sideways lap belts).

But I believe it was an owner with the metal couch (seatbelts) and the "2x4" wall frame who found that the 2x4 frame was only rather lightly screwed to the wallboard. Maybe it was a one-off or only on the Premier or something, but it would make me want to double check before counting on it to support Dano's nice new furniture.

Well, my compensation is I win on the cross beam support. Two support studs under the ledge are already in place! In addition, there are also seat belt bolts between the water tank and wall down into the floor on my model (ex-couch).

Ha ha, on the "I could have built those boxes in an hour." And Hoosier, yep, we have another one in the club

Dano: BTW, I think we all have those support 2 x 4's to the floor. Mine look just like yours. It was just that the folks who delved in found that those "big healthy screws" that you would assume tie that assembly to something structural in the wall... don't. Or at least didn't for them. And those round couch support bars make you think they would.

Also maybe their vertical 2 x 4's didn't quite touch the floor or something? Maybe the carpet compressed I may be making that part up though. And then there is the wee skinny bit where they cut out for the water heater.

All that said, you are probably fine with supporting load straight to the floor with that, I'd think. But I wouldn't trust it to keep something from "falling inward," if that makes sense. That would be loading those suspect screws in tension.

The more I think about this, I think I'm okay. I'm going to add a few L brackets on the sink cabinet and I did build a small stud wall that sits on the wheel well. The entire bed is surprisingly rigid now that it's glued so after it's screwed into the floor plus the L brackets, I think any downward load should be fine but I am going to take your advice and will remove a few wall screws to see what kind of connection is there. I think the rigidity of the structure will keep everything in place and will prevent any pulling away from the wall so as long as that happens, any load will be transferred. I HOPE!
