Hello,

The panel cover above my generator flew off.

Where can I find a replacement cover?

Would I find the tire cover replacement in the same place?

Excited to be here, thank you.

If you're referring to the Dometic refrigerator access door "above the generator", there are several outlets/suppliers to purchase a new replacement panel (Amazon, eBay, etc.). Do a search to find forum topics on the subject.

If you mean the actual generator cover door (like photo), an OEM replacement will be harder to locate.

As a last option, this company can custom make compartment doors per your requirements.

Aftermarket tire cover replacements for the Chinook are sometimes called "continental kits". Many RV supply houses like this one offer them.

The description of "above the generator" confuses me slightly - is it the actual hinged generator door cover with the expanded metal inserts? Or the plastic refrigerator lower vent cover? Or something else?

As Hoosier mentioned, the refrigerator vent cover and frame are easily available. Amazon, RV shop, etc.

The generator cover you can have made, although it won't have the colored stripe on it unless you have it custom painted. I looked into this because I was considering having a non-vented door made for that space if I removed the generator. I also did order one for where the water heater was (although not installed).

The water heater one I ordered through Pellandent. Even though I sent photos and specified it in writing, they sent one with a "mill finish" (i.e. looks like bare aluminum) rim around the outside instead of white. After a bunch of hassle I got it exchanged, but it was a pain and they made it clear that they don't really "do" white ones.

Since it had come from a wholesaler, I got in touch with them to see if I could buy direct. No, but they did recommend a supplier who could easily provide the white trimmed ones. This is Interstate Metal. Things to know:

1) If you have a Chinook from maybe 2002 or older, but in my general era, then the original access hatches are screwed on, and then there is a vinyl trim strip that covers the screws. These are easily available. On the other hand, newer rigs have the "smooth" doors where there is no screw track and trim strip. These fasten from the back. You might choose to go back with a smooth one, but you'd have to make sure it would work out vs. the same screw type is more "no brainer."

2) Have the thickness of the door to hand as they will want to know.

3) They offer the "skin" in white metal or fiberglass. I forget which ours are, but a look should tell you.

4) You can specify the generator expanded metal grille sections.

5) Check the corner radius. IIRC ours is the more common one, but they do make more than one and you'd want that the same.

Same type of thing would go for the tire locker door, battery door, etc. Basically all those OEM doors.
