Some bad with the good

Hello I just made an introduction about my new found purchase. While we were checking out all the appliances decided to check the generator and it turns over over and start until you let your finger off the button scenario , the generator only shows 137 hours on the meter so I know that it had not been exercised like it should. The coach only has less than 1/4 tank of gas so I knew it would not continue to run very long and just figured that was the issue but after filling it up and driving home 100 miles got around to trying to start it again. After some research I found out it was a common problem and started to do a little troubleshooting. I at first figured out the wiring and discovered how to keep it running by disconnecting the starter wire after it was running as to not burn the starter up and it runs fine just does not put out any power. I have cleaned and checked all the rounds I could find and followed all the wiring clear to engine compartment 80 amp breaker
The remote starter panel in the coach with start/stop switch, battery condition and hour meter shows that battery is bad, checked voltage at gen starter solenoid and shows 13 volts so I pulled the panel out and checked voltage at battery condition meter and zero volts to it this leads me to believe that it is a control board issue of course it could be brushes or voltage regulator or ? And after reading other articles about this scenario I am at a turning point do I just buy a new control board and hope that is the issue the other issue I have is what control board does it use, the generator is a Onan 4KYFA26100E Microlite.
Any input from others that have dealt with this issue will be gladly welcomed, taking it to an Onan repair center is not an option and I figure most other shops would just start replacing parts. If these units were not stuck in such tight quarters it would be so much easier.
Thanks
