I'm sure most are already aware and are fairly thorough when checking your tires, but thought I'd post a friendly reminder anyway. I've had a slow leak in one of my duals for a couple of months now. Since I'm preparing for a journey from Texas to Arizona next week, I thought it best to get it fixed. 20 minutes into the 'fix' the service tech summoned me to the garage and showed me the 'offending' tire. Please be vigilant in checking your tire integrity between the duals as well as the interior facing portion of the inner tires. I had taken 2 short trips with the 'leak' and am considering myself very lucky nothing significant happened.

There is plenty of thread left, so it is as good as new!
Seriously, wow, you are luck that you make it to the shop without blowouts I am very surprised that they still holding pressure, and only give you a slow leak. How old are the tires, and do you how do you store the rig when you are not using it? Are you getting two tires, or you are getting all of them replaced? Looks like it is due to some rock rubbing between the dually for a long trip.

Tires were only 5 years old. Replaced all 4 of the rears. Tires are covered when stored.
I've never had an issue like this with a tire before...on any vehicle. I don't remember hitting or running over anything, so not sure what happened.
The pictures don't do it justice, but the those slices were pretty significant...especially the long one nearest the rim/bead.

5 yrs is not too bad, since they should be checked regularly after 6 yrs for replacement. I don't understand why there are damaged that way either, but the first two pictures on the top seems to reminds me of the situation when something got between the dually tires, and does not come out. It is weird that both driver and passenger side. I think you should spend a $1 and get a lottery ticket
