It is wider, and true Class C. One common comment is how low the back is. I guess there is not much they can do about that since it is how they can get the fuel economy out of these Benz.

The awning is interesting. If you click the link you can see it open. It looks to have the same type of scissoring arms that ours has, but no supports that attach to the body. Hmmmm. Wonder how they do that and keep it solid?

Obviously, the photo was taken inside a protected space, without wind. I can open mine like that too, but the aluminum is 20+ yrs old, and I would only open it up without support next to a protected area and only for a short time.

According to the Brochure, the shell is Aluminum.
The front and rear caps are fiberglass.

the big expensive class a's have those awnings with no supports. Some of them even have wind detection... if a gust blows too hard, it retracts itself to protect it. I have no idea if the new chinook has that protection feature.

Ground clearance stinks, it would never survive where I take mine....LOL....
