No rush but thanks for looking, just curious. I had no clue what it was until I Googled the company that's imprinted inside earlier today. I'm 240 so I'd be pushing the limits of my bumper and that step.

Yep, the Fold-A-Way.

The step and the mounting are pretty solid. I'm pushing 230 (tall guy) and haven't had an issue with it. I use it when I wash the RV. Oh, useless tidbit of knowledge....the folding front bumper step was part of the XL package.

Nice to confirm I have the XL. I have things like the safe, which I think was mentioned in the brochure, that it comes with the XL package. I'm going to have to dig out the brochure again. I thought it mentioned something I don't have.

Yes, mine had that too, in the center of the front bumper. Although the license plate was actually mounted in the stock location over to the side, and then no license plate on the fold-down step.

That said, I removed the fold-down bracket when I mounted the front hitch/spare-tire bracket. Saved it of course.

Funny you mention the safe: I just removed that today. I didn't have anything against it, but I think I'm going to put the refrigerator compressor there, and I didn't really use the safe. (Saved it.)

I haven't used the safe yet, but it's nice knowing it's there. I'm sure if you don't find another place for it, someone will snap it up quick.

You know, I didn't really think about putting it someplace else, but that's not a bad idea. Even though I have never used it yet... I might.

For some reason I thought it would be bolted through the floor (although that doesn't make sense when you think about it). Instead it was held in with four screws just down into the plywood floor. So it could likely be pried out, but then the whole vehicle could be stolen, so it's probably secure enough. Or, just make it real obvious and then hide things elsewhere :D

Anyway, thanks for the idea of maybe putting it somewhere else.

Would you be interested in selling the Fold-a-way bumper step?

Adventurer,

Sorry for the delay, I just saw this today. Let me think about that. Reason is, if I ever want to carry a bicycle or small dirt bike, that would be on the front bumper and I'd put the spare back on the rear (tho I'd kind of hate to do that - love the open space there now). Then I might want the bumper step. In any case, it's in storage and I won't be back to that area until sometime in November.

So.... probably not, but let me think about it. And of course no problem asking!
