I am very grateful for the assembled knowledge and experience I find here, and for the time and talent so generously given by the "old-timers" to us newbies trying to learn our way around the Chinook. However, may I ever so gently ask for the consideration of using plain language? I recently read the following in a thread: "Aged PCMs can suffer from leaking capacitors. If they're faulty they can cause misfires at low RPM. If they're really bad, they can contaminate the PCB and cause an array of issues. Depending on the issue, you might get a CEL." I am sure that makes perfect sense to some, but is it asking too much to ask that you first spell out the full meaning of any acronym you are using? I could cite other examples, but I think the point is clear: if you really want to be helpful, try using plain language and eschew the technical jargon!
Thank you for your consideration.

I am from the high mountainous region, so I don't know the plain language
Seriously, yeah, I agree. I think you were reading one of Scott's posts.
CEL is check engine light, one of the status light on your dash board that lights up when you crank your engine. RPM is revolution per minute, a way to tell how fast things are spinning. PCM is powertrain computer/controll module, one of the many computers in modern car.
The good news is that if anyone do not understand any jargon, people on this board are friendly enough to answer them, just let them know. All you need to do is ask. And there is this Internet...

A well stated request.
Also know Google is your friend when learning new things: typing WHat is a vehicle PCM or What is a vehicle CEL produces great results.
