Replace brake lines

Post by Gabbi »

Our 1997 Chinook Concourse/Econoline 350 needs new brake lines. Ford dealer says they are having a very hard time locating replacements.
Anybody have a thought as to where to locate brake lines for a 1997 Ford Econoline 350 van ?

Which ones in particular? The rubber flex lines or the hardlines?

edit, Gabbi the dealership is only looking through their own parts supply ( motorcraft ). Which is why they are having a hard time finding OEM parts left from something that era. Chances are they should be readily available through an aftermarket supplier like checkers, Oriellys, napa etc etc.

Hard brake line is a standard item that any shop should be able to fabricate. They will have the flare tool and fittings to make it work. The rubber lines are unique but are easily available for other sources as sm350bl stated.

I would get that out of there and take it to a reputable shop and have them take care of it for you.

Here are the rubber lines on rockauto btw:
