Steps were working fine until we arrived at a campground where we were dry camping for 4 days. After arrival the steps would not go down. Had the door open and the screen door closed. While sitting with friend at the adjacent site and about 30 minutes later my wife noticed that the steps had gone down. We opened and closed the door several times and it was working as expected.
For the remainder of our stay we left the steps down. When we were getting ready to leave the steps went up as expected. When we arrived home once again the steps would not go down! Also we noticed that the Step switch does not light up though it did when the steps were working.
Any ideas of what can be checked? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Kwikee Steps Not Working
Re: Kwikee Steps Not Working
An intermittent problem "usually" points to an electrical issue. You have to make sure it is fully lubricated as well.
1. Make sure ALL contact points are lubricated. I use white lithium grease spray. Most folks spray the 4 contact points on the side, but it is very important to lube the supports for the connecting rod between the two sides.
2. Door contact is a likely problem. Use spray electrical cleaner. Even better is to remove it, clean the contacts, and reassemble. I'd remove it and replace it.
3. While underneath, check all other connections, and clean them as well.
4. Google "Kwikee Step Switch" to find replacements, videos on repair, and tons of other information.

Re: Kwikee Steps Not Working
Thanks for all the troubleshooting steps. I will be working on these soon. Do you know where are the circuit breaker(s) / fuse(s) for the steps are located?

Re: Kwikee Steps Not Working
After degreasing all the pivot points on the Kwikee steps, spraying with Kwikee step grease and spraying contact cleaner on door contacts, steps still did not work. I then pulled out the coach battery tray and found the AGC fuse holder loose and would not stay closed. Temporarily I taped it together and the steps now work. I will pick up a new fuse holder and I am confident the step issue is resolved for now!
Thanks for the suggestions.
