Q. on installing new front roof vent

Post by 68camaro »

Hi, I decided to replace the original Fantastic Vent in the front of my 2001 rig. I am going with the Hurrventer Roof Vent with Remote and using Butyl Seal tape and Dicor Non-Leveling Lap Sealent.

My question, since the original vent has been in place for 24 years is there anything I should be particularly concerned or cautious about while removing the old unit? It seems pretty straight-forward but on something that old you never know what you run into.

Thanks in advance.....

the only thing i found when i replaced mine was some of the holes were not in the same spot. so pre drill the ones that might not line up. other than that it is straight forward

I didn't have any problems removing mine or installing it. As noluck said the holes may not line up. Removing all the gunk and prepping the surface was the most annoying part.
