TIP: "runs" are usually avoided by spraying down a few light coats, sort of layering up the color application.

Doghouses don't lay flat so be careful of runs. Practice spraying on a upright piece to watch for runs.

At least on the Ford, it's pretty easy to remove the doghouse (and trivial to remove just the console [cupholder]. Granted, it's still not "flat," but at least it's out of the vehicle, and you can adjust the angles and not worry so much about masking off the surroundings. Also gives a good chance to be sure the rubber seals are set down correctly (they can get on the wrong side of carpet or etc. and then let heat or fumes into the cab). I haven't operated the Chev design, but I'd think it'd be analogous.
