1989, light switches question

Post by bearnval »

So the old 89 Ford Chinook has been having a wonderful season of camping so. My remodel and repair projects were mostly put on hold, so we could just go have some fun. But I have a question about those two light switches by the back door. They have never worked, but I assume they must go to the outside light or maybe that clear plastic chinook handle? I was thinking I would like to hook up some light strips under the back steps and connect them to the switches. Can any one shed some light on this topic for me? 8-) thanks

On my 2001 they go like this:

1st - to light rear poarch Chinook grab handle and light above it
2nd - light under awning
3rd - Black holding tank light under rig

I nave have #2 & 3 backwards

On my 94, the two switches are:

1. Rear stair inside light strip, clear grab handle, and rear door light.

2. Dump station light.

Thanks for reminder, btw. Dump light went out and I need to clean and replace with LED.

Thank you, you are correct. I just found out the dump light underneath actually works! The others are in rugged shape. See pic. I need to find an LED replacement.
