Leak!

I have a 2001 Destiny 2400. To my great dismay I found I have a leak.... looks like it’s coming from the outside compartment on the back where the entertainment center is located. Inside, in the inner right corner , after a heavy rain, it is soaked..... it has bled thru to the paneling and inner bottom step.... as evidenced by some warping of the bottom panneling and trim and soaking wet carpeting on the step. Help!! Any suggestions on weatherstripping or trim for the compartment? Should I rip out the carpet on the step?? Thanks for your reply. Melanie

I don't have a Destiny (and I think they are less common here than the smaller ones), so could you post a photo? It would help me to visualize the entertainment center at the back corner (ha, my model has a spare tire, a locker, and the bathroom sink plumbing.... a bit less exciting).

I'm certain it can be taken care of, once you/we figure out where it is, we can formulate a repair plan.

(And yeah, the MDF that was used for cabinet carcases (i.e. the flat panels) has a rather dramatic reaction to water.)
