Porch/Awning light lens cover

Post by roscott »

Trying to find replacement lens covers for the porch and awning lights (Fasteners Unlimited (P-1328 Replacement Lens). 2004 Concourse. All I get with internet searches is 'Out of Stock' or 'Discontinued'. Does anyone know of new/replacement part # that may work? ...or have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance.

This is a tough one. I think gulf stream use the same part (Deco 008089-01-700), but that one is also out of stock too. Some people replace the whole fixture instead, to avoid this shortage issue.

Last time I talked to one of the distributors, and he told me the factory they build this in China burnt down a few years ago, and they never was able to find anyone to make the part anymore. It probably cost $0.05 to make if you have the mold and make a million of them.

Yep...recently MIA! Not sure the reason, but several RV parts suppliers have shut down and many warehouses (at least in Elkhart, IN) are low or out of inventory.
You might do a search in other forums "parts for sale". FYI: it was also used on Winnegago, Fleetwood, Silver Streak, Airstream, Roadtrek, Country Coach, Komfort, Haulmark, Holiday Rambler, and Sports Coach of the same era.
Like other discontinued items, you can upgrade to an alternative that is available. Like this Bargman #80 series porch light fixture. Check dimensions, but looks like it would cover the existing hole.

I just did a search and the Deco item is available on two retailers. You may be able to order it. I think they are asking for less than $8 each. A third retailer wants $30 for it. I would just get a fixture replacement if that is how much for a simple piece of plastic.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I'll take the advice and replace the fixtures.

I think this might be the lens. One of the comments says it was used to replace one on a 2002 Concourse.

Search “exterior coach light” on this forum. There was mention of a scam.

Rick, that is the link I send to other folks, and someone points out a few fishy thing about the seller, so it is likely for it to be a scam, like Fjb said.

I used some epoxy to repair my lens last fall before our trip to Arizona. These lenses are pretty delicate to begin with and at 16 years old even more so. When mine gives up again I will opt for a larger replacement fixture. Most anything out there will be brighter. ;)

Good new on the Porch/Awning light. Airstream Campers (another iconic camper manufacturer) Used this same light. The Air Stream parts number you give your local dealer is: 510732-01 . Cost was $10.34 pulse tax.
The light is much brighter with a new lens!
