Leaky cab?

Post by HoosierB »

2000 Ford ('01 Chinook): After a rain the other day, noticed wet carpeting in the driver side footwell, up at the firewall. No road driving, just parked. Wondering if this was a common experience and if there's a fix. Otherwise, I'll need to chase it down. Door seals and windshield gasket appear to be in great condition. Are there "drainage holes" somewhere under the cowl grille (that panel the wiper arms come thru)?

I'll be interested to see what others have to say on this one, as I don't (yet) have any specific Ford van experience on it. I *did* have a similar leak on a previous car, and it was the windshield seal (although it, too, looked find). On that vehicle the passenger footwell would end up soaked. Ugh. By the time I figured it out (I had a gallon jug of water there and at first figured it had just leaked) I had to remove the seat and everything under it to really get it dried out (plus have the windshield replaced). That was back when removing a seat seemed like a big deal to me. Obviously, before RV ownership
